You are warmly invited to attend the inaugural meeting of an exciting new community initiative in Hackney on 7 February 2013, 11am to 2pm.
St. Josephs Hospice and Social Action for Health want to work with you to create a compassionate community in which local people have the opportunity to offer culturally specific support to families caring for someone who is dying at home.
We are going to create a social movement and we want you to be part of it. We will work with local community groups, teaching your members practical and relational skills that will build up community resilience, with participants gaining direct experience of practical usefulness in the context of cross cultural social value.
We plan to hold an initial series of four meetings on a monthly basis to get going, plan how we work together, recruit participants, secure funding and connect with similar movements across the world.
Each meeting will take place 11am to 2pm, over lunch, at St Joseph’s Hospice.
Can you think of other community groups who would be interested? Will you let us know how we can contact them?
We do hope you will agree to join in – we can make a difference if we work together!
