A message from our CEO
Firstly, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year. I am always inspired by the commitment, passion and determination that is shown in our organisation and last year, despite many changes and challenges, was no exception. Thank you to all who have volunteered with us, championed our work, or supported us in other ways.
There are exciting times ahead for Social Action for Health. We have launched our new training programme for all delivery staff and volunteers, are setting up our new Community Advisory Group, and are starting new projects that directly respond to what communities have told us they want.
The Board has committed to a strategy that builds on our expertise to provide services and support to those most affected by health inequalities in the following areas:
Long-term health conditions, including cancer, mental ill-health, and long-Covid
Pregnancy, birth, and early-parenthood
Community Research - ensuring those traditionally excluded from health research are key stakeholders and drive agendas and policies
We are also looking forward to growing and developing our work in relation to the health and wellbeing of young people. Watch this space!
I look forward to meeting many of you in the year ahead. Fingers crossed that this will be in person as well as on screen.
Ceri Durham, CEO at Social Action for Health
