Men’s mental health support - we are running conversation clubs, woodwork courses, and low-impact exercise groups to support men’s mental health and wellbeing.

We know that one of the most beneficial aspects of our work is bringing people together in comfortable and culturally accessible spaces, to learn from and support each other.
Good Friends offers support and friendship to people in Tower Hamlets who feel lonely or isolated.
We run a weekly walking group for Bangladeshi women to come together, enjoy some gentle movement, and practice conversational English. For more information please call or text 07944966141.
We also run a weekly coffee group for mums to make friends and share their ups and downs in a non-judgemental and friendly space.
We also run a weekly social exercise club for men to get active and make friends in the community.

We are growing and developing our work in relation to the health and wellbeing of young people.

We have a long history of supporting women from groups that are most negatively affected by social determinants of health in pregnancy and early parenthood.
Sure STEPS offers one-to-one and group support in Tower Hamlets and Hackney for pregnant women, and parents of children aged under 5, who are going through tough times or financial difficulties.
We recently ran drop-in support sessions at Newham Hospital for expectant and new mums who have diabetes in pregnancy. Our team were on hand to provide a listening ear, some mindfulness, gentle exercise, healthy snacks, and signposting to other services.
We also run a weekly coffee group for mums to make friends and share their ups and downs in a non-judgemental and friendly space.

Due to participant feedback, our walking group for Bangladeshi women also offers ESOL support. After their walk, the group develops their knowledge of the English alphabet and practices conversational English. Through role play exercises, the group develops their English skills and are gaining confidence to chat with new friends and book GP appointments. For more information please call or text 07944966141.
We also started a Conversation Club at the end of 2022 for men who would like to practice speaking English. We are hoping to run more courses in 2023 for people to confidently chat with neighbours, order food, or make appointments over the phone in English.
Our recent financial wellbeing pilot at Hackney Baby Bank provided local mums with practical tools and ideas for how to manage money and financial worries. We are hoping to roll-out more courses in 2023. For more information, please call or text 07840843361.

We carry out our own research to improve our services and work with a range of organisations, such as universities, local authorities, NHS trusts and other partners.
